A Somber Reflection

On Monday, September 30, 2013, a family in our community went for a spectacular autumn Colorado day hike along one of the most popular "easy" trails in the area.  Unfortunately, the beautiful day turned into a tragedy when a rock slide killed five family members. Our very small rural mountain community of Buena Vista, has been devastated.  I can't even begin to describe the deep sadness I feel for the family and 13 year old, Grace, who survived because her father shielded her body from the rock slide.  I am at a loss for words.
